It is designed to navigate the differing expansion rates of softwood and EPDM rubber, providing long-term structural integrity in high-traffic commercial and residential environments.
Standard deck screws compromise Walksure® boards by tearing the rubber inlay upon entry, offering insufficient pull-out resistance in softwood, and corroding due to moisture trapped between the rubber and screw head.
Our specialized fastener creates a clean, flush seal in the EPDM layer while utilizing aggressive thread geometry to maximize grip in the timber substrate, backed by advanced anti-corrosion shielding.

Walksure Low Slip Deck Board is a slip-resistant product that combines EPDM rubber and pressure-treated softwood deck board.The resulting product provides an attractive and colourful alternative to traditional timber decking and a safe, slip-resistant surface in wet or dry conditions.WalkSure® decking is PEFC certified and has a 15-year guarantee against rot and fungal decay, subject to correct installation and treatment of cut timber.WalkSure® is rated as 'low potential for slip' tested to BS 7976 part 2Importantly WalkSure achieves the 'low slip' rating in each of the three test procedures, across, diagonal to and along the board length.The sawn ends should be re-treated with a suitable timber preservative if deck boards are cut.Supports should be set at a maximum of 450mm centres. The timber is pressure-treated green, to BS8417 at our very own treatment works. This will maximise the lifespan of the timber by up to 15 years! It also creates an effective barrier to infestation by insects and fungi.
Timber is a natural product and is subject to continual movement when exposed to atmospheric conditions. This may be evident with splits, shakes or warping. These are not considered to be a fault or defect.
