Ideal for a variety of applications including accessing raised decks, patios and terraces.

Stringers are designed to hold the treads or steps in place, allowing for safe and stable movement up and down a raised garden space.

They are typically attached to the deck frame using truss clips or brackets and are spaced apart according to the width of the steps and the load that will be placed on them, see our fitting guide for additional guidance on installation.

Regular maintenance and upkeep of decking stairs are also important to ensure their longevity and safety. This includes checking for any loose or damaged components, as well as cleaning and treating the stairs regularly to prevent decay and rot.

The timber used for these stringers is pressure-treated green to BS8417 at our very own treatment works. This will maximise the lifespan of the timber by up to 15 years! It also creates an effective barrier to infestation by insects and fungi.

Please note: The finished height of the strip stringer will be dependent on the thickness of the deck board used for the steps on the final tread.
